Lidia is a Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner and Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, having completed her training at the international highly acclaimed Functional Medicine Coaching Academy. Currently working towards her Master in Lifestyle Medicine at Southern Cross University, she is a committed member of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM) and the Health Coaches Australia and New Zealand Association (HCANZA), with professional standards certification from the UK and International Health Coaches Association (UKIHCA). Lidia is also actively pursuing her fellowship with both ASLM and the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM).
Lidia began her career as a Speech Pathologist after graduating with a Bachelor Degree from Flinders University in 1997. Soon after she began specialising in dysphagia management working across leading hospitals, rehabilitation centres, and aged care settings. This experience ignited her passion for assisting individuals in reaching their optimal health potential. Subsequently, she founded AvantiCare, a company that has become renowned for its excellence in providing allied healthcare services dedicated to the aged care community. Lidia's journey reflects her commitment to positive change across both the healthcare and aged care industries.
Lidia's accolades as a thought leader, innovator, and disrupter in the field include winning the prestigious Telstra Business Women's Award in 2019. Her role as a judge on the Telstra Best of Business Awards panel in 2022 underscores her active contribution to shaping the future of healthcare.
Beyond her accolades, Lidia has actively contributed to healthcare as a thought leader presenting at conferences, serving on advisory panels and as the chair on the board of a not-for-profit aged care organisation. Lidia participated in the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, providing evidence in 2019 on allied health service delivery in aged care.
